Member Rules
[/size][/b][/u]- Respect Others: Code of Eden is trying to build a wholesome community and we want to keep the community that way. That means respecting others and treating them as you would want to be treated.
- Keep Profanity to a Minimum: This is a PG-13 website. Profanity is allowed, but must be kept to a minimum. You would not hear the F word every other sentence in a PG-13 movie, so do not do it here.
- Racism, Sexism, or Discrimination: This goes along with respecting others. Pretty self explanatory neither of these are allowed.
- Activity: We here at Code of Eden understand that we all have lives. Even staff have lives beyond this website. But as a general rule we do ask you at least check in the website twice a week.
- Profiles: Members are allowed one profile per user. Any other profile that a user creates will be deleted, no questions asked.
- Porn: Pornography of any kind is not allowed on this website.
- Signature Size: We here at Code of Eden ask that you keep your signatures to a size that does not stretch the board. If your signature is too large we will ask that you remove i.
- Plagiarism: Plagiarism is not tolerated on Code of Eden. If you steal a character from another website, steal character summaries, role plays, or another person's work, it will be removed.
- Spamming: It annoys staff to no end. Do not spam. If you do, the appropriate punishment will be given.
- Spoilers: If you are going to talk about spoilers, or have something that might spoil an anime, manga, etc. for someone please use the spoiler button. That is what it is there for.
Character Rules
[/u][/size][/center]- Accepting Characters: All characters must be accepted by a staff member before role playing with them is allowed. Do not hound staff to look at your character. They will get to the character as soon as possible. Also if a staff member asks you to change something about the profile then please change it. Unless you have a very good argument as to why you should not, then you will still have to change it before being accepted.
- Character Limit: There is a limit on the amount of characters you are allowed to role play. Each member is allowed up to five original characters and two canon characters. This is a total of seven characters.
- Grammar and Spelling: Here at Code of Eden we encourage our members to be aspiring writers. This means keep grammar and spelling down to a minimum. We understand that we all make mistakes, however bad spelling and grammar makes writing harder to read. This rule applies to the entire board.
- Character Guidelines: This rule refers to the topics: Original Character Application / Description and Canon Characters. Follow the guidelines listed in this topic when making the character. Staff will not accept a character that does not meet the criteria listed.
- Face claim: Face Claim for characters must all be done before a character profile is accepted. There cannot be a character with the same face. When it comes to face claims please refer to the Application Database board for more information.
- Mary Sues & Average Joes:This is more of a rule about originality then anything else. When making an original character please make it original. Profiles that are Mary Sues or Average Joes won't be looked at. They will be denied if they seem to bland.
- Character Grade: When an original character is accepted it is given a grade from 1 - 10 (1 being Low and 10 being high). Each month the characters with the highest grade are voted on by staff and featured on the forum. Character profiles are graded on grammar and spelling, originality, depth, and creativity.
- Character Application(s): Please fill out the entire application before posting it in the "Profile Posting" board. Also only applications from this site will be accepted. You cannot use a character application from another site.
Role Play Rules
[/u][/size][/center]- Word Count: There is no word count in the role play boards because we at Code of Eden believe in quality not quantity. However if you make a post that is one paragraph there is not much to role play and respond with. Keep this in mind.
- God-Modding & Power Playing: Neither are allowed. This means no taking control of another person's character without their permission. You are expected to role play with a realistic approach. All characters are human and thus have limitations and flaws and can be defeated. This also means no character killing or making claim that an attack hits another person's character. That is up for the owner of the character to decide.
- Romance: Romance is allowed in the role play boards, but please keep it Pg-13.
